Biography

Nicolas Delaroche explores the relationship between objects and their context. Through photography, sculpture, drawing and installation, he reveals spaces as zones of exchanges, where the elements—objects, or works of art, human beings, architecture, and materials— communicate with each other. Like the coyote, his alter ego in his West Lake Stories (2016), Nicolas Delaroche crosses vast territories seeking the discreet and fleeting detail, the point of intersection between these elements. Through his travels, he collects visual encounters; capturing them with his camera or by amalgamating media, to share with us the traces of a wander, in often intimate locations.
