Biography

Alexandra Baumgartner was born in 1991 in Zurich. She graduated from the Lucerne School of Art and Design - Camera Arts in 2019 after having completed her bachelor’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies and History at the University of Zurich in 2017. Alexandra Baumgartner‘s most recent project investigates the field of political ecology. She is interested in the entanglements of plant and human life and our responsibility towards what we call “nature” in a time marked by ecological crisis. Her approach to photography interweaves a research-driven documentary practice, collaborative processes, and artistic exploration.
