È Così la Vita

The island Sardinia is one of five Blue Zones, the regions of the world where people live much longer than average. In remote villages in the heartland of Sardinia live the oldest people in Europe. Their way of life is largely unchanged for generations, and in some way these island people are unaffected by the outside world. I visited some of these pristine parts and photographed the villagers and their surroundings.

The series „È Così la Vita“, which translates to „That‘s what life is like“, illustrates my perspective of an existence close to nature and the mysticism surrounding the long lives of these Sardinians.

Nôtre-Dame-du-Haut de Ronchamp

My experience visiting the chapel at Ronchamp mingles reverence with a sense of safety. I‘m studying the play of light in the interior and the way the building changes depending on the weather and the time of day, sometimes generating mystical moods. Taking a photojournalistic approach to the task of portraying the work, my concentration on selected aspects and details make the building as such fade into the background, bringing to the fore those images that convey atmosphere rather than a self-contained narrative.

On the occasion of th exhibition „Architecture Icons Revisited“ at Pavillon Le Corbusier, Zurich (April-November 2022), I had the privilege of photographing Notre-Dame-du-Haut, one of.              Le Corbusier‘s key works that has already been photographed many times.
