Viel Glück zum Muttertag 2009 - 2022

This long-term photo project is about the relationship between my stepdaughter and me, growing up as a girl in this society, coming of age, my own memories of it and the question: What does family mean?

Causes and Effects of Climate Change on Coasts.
Coasts are much more than just the boundary between land and water. They connect two distinct ecosystems, creating a unique diversity of geological structures, plants, and animals, while also shaping cultural practices such as fishing, tourism, and other ways of life.
In January 2022, inspired by a radio report on coastal erosion and weary of the confinement of the mountains, I travelled to the coasts of my childhood. However, the idyll is deceptive: overfishing, mass tourism, and resource exploitation have drastically altered many coastal areas. Ecosystems are collapsing, species are dying, storms are becoming stronger and more frequent, and sea levels are rising.
By the end of this century, nearly half of the beaches could disappear. Many of these damages remain invisible—romanticised beaches often survive only through artificial interventions. Fresh fish is frequently contaminated with microplastics and heavy metals. The impacts of climate change are already evident.
Through my project, I aim to encourage reflection and emotional engagement—not only about the importance of this issue but also about the fragility of what we are slowly destroying. My approach is less accusatory, and more driven by curiosity and inquiry.
